Buck and a rattler

Got a nice buck on camera and on my way home ran into this guy.

Now that is a cool looking snake.

I catch and relocate our venomous snakes over here, so I get to see some pretty neat colours and patterns. However I've not seen one like that, those colours are very striking.

i'm with Bryant  on this one.  i think he/she must have recently shed because the colors are so brilliant.  That's the "purtiest" timber rattler i've ever seen. Good on you for letting it go.  Nice buck too by the way! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

beautiful Timber Rattler, that is what we have the most of here in terms of the big ones. they are also called Velvet Tails here or even Coon Tails.
They can get very big, at least here in the mountains anyways. looks freshly shed too. They can be very irritable right before shedding
