Depending on your bow building experience you may want to pursue an R/D long bow or hybrid long bow instead of a recurve design. You can most likely achieve your goals with any design you pursue with enough refinement and proper balance. but recurve bows can be a bit more challenging, and more sensitive to limb shape, wedge configuration, and taper rate changes. Just my opinion on that.
You will find that their are many different methods used, and different bowyers have different philosophy on what is most important. I have to pass on getting into any design debates on the open forum here. I always seem to ruffle feathers with my opinionated views.
But feel free to send me email or private messages if you have any detailed questions. I’d be more than glad to share some tricks I’ve learned.
