For those that have hunted LBL, any advice? Will be hunting Nov. 8-13 this year. Thanks in advance.

I hunted it in 2018 or 19 can't remember; it was fun - killed a small buck. Saw a lot of deer. I am accustomed to hunting flat land in South Georgia with fair amount of hunting pressure. The first few sits I made I went deep often walking a mile or more to try to get away from people. I went with some guys that had hunted there before and they advised to stay close to roads - you don't have to get that isolated. They also told me to hunt ridgetops as the deer travel those. They were correct. I also had trouble locating a food source to hunt - very little browse and acorns were gone. There were some farm fields that I hunted the edges and saw deer in those. The other thing I experienced was lots of coyotes. I was told by several do not leave a wounded deer overnight as it will be eaten by the time you find it.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your input. Been studying topo map to narrow down productive areas but alot of it looks the same. I'm excited to hunt LBL and just look forward to being in the woods and fellowship with others going. There are about 10-15 men from different parts of the country going as part of a men's ministry hunt.

Outside of hunting there were several areas with lodging around the lakes that were small cabins with beds, a small living area, and kitchen area. I would advise looking into those. As I recall there was not an over-abundance of places to buy groceries and goods or places to eat. We took our food and cooked at the cabins nightly and that seemed to be what a lot of people did. I feel like the time you are going is a good time to go. Don't remember when the rut is but that sounds close?
