Newbie to trad
« on: September 12, 2022, 07:42:31 PM »
and have been getting ready for deer season, starts Oct 1 for archery.  I'm using 2 bows this yr, a 41# and a 45#.  But, I'm able to start cold with the 45 # and am shooting well to 20 yds.

So, how/what do y'all do to stay ready and loose for a shot after sitting for a bit?  I have started drawing my bows a little at a time until ready to come to full draw.  This helps me.

I hunt exclusively from a blind and may draw many times during a hunt.

I guess that's about all we can do.  I have a bow trainer that I use often at home, but don't want to lug that to my hunt site.  I'm not in a box/cloth blind, just a brush blind.

I will usually draw my bow a few times when first get in my stand. Doing this also lets you know if there are any limbs or such in the way it is also a good way to look for clearance of your stand.

I will have a good look around about every hour and slowly draw my bow to stay loose. Yeah I probably have alerted a deer or 2 but not that I know of :archer:
