Vertically hanging unstrung bow with a quiver on it
« on: October 19, 2022, 09:46:51 AM »
Anyone have any experience where the additional weight of the quiver affected the tiller/bend when stored vertically unstrung?

Hate having to keep taking the quiver off my selfbows every hunt.  I prefer to store them on my horizontal rack but the wall space is limited with 70" bows!  I don't want to store them unstrung vertically with the quiver on if it will hurt the bow but I have a hard time thinking that small bit of weight will hurt anything.

I never had any issues when I was using a bow quiver. :coffee:

Appreciate it!  I know I should know this from years of experience but have just always had my selfbows horizontal and didn't want to chance it!

Being pretty much a glass bowyer, I do not have a lot of experience with self bows.
But I do not think the extra weight of a full quiver would be enough to effect the limbs shape at all hanging vertically unstrung.

Moisture content levels changing in wood bows would be the one I would be concerned with.  and WHERE you choose to store your bows can make a dramatic difference in MC levels.     Kirk
