Toelke curlew 56"

I just bought a Toelke curlew 56" recurve from a member on here. Does anyone else own one? If so, could I trouble you for the brace height range and the string length? Emailed Dan and he gave an educated guess on brace height, but had no idea on string length. Said it's been way too long, and he didn't build very many of those. Any help is appreciated.

If it helps I owned and shot a good bit of 3d with a 60" Curlew and if memory serves my brace height was 7 3/4" so I'd try 7 1/2". And a string 3-4" shorter than the bow length usually works.

Did it come with a string?

I haven't received it yet, and he is unsure if he can locate a string. I've got a couple of 52" and a 52.5" strings, but I am not sure if that is a good place to start

It wouldn't hurt to try the 52.5 incher,, that would be a split of the recommended lengths of 3-4 inches mentioned by Jim Wright above.

Ok. I'll give it a try. I'm sure it will be close, I was just hoping for someone to chime in and say, yeah- I've got one of those, it's this length...

From a shameless Toelke fan on what Steelhead said, all Toelke bows are quiet and pleasant shooting and flawlessly constructed to boot.
