A little riser work going
« on: November 21, 2022, 09:45:19 PM »
The ILF riser has some really nice Claro Walnut in it. This should look pretty good when its finished.
The radius footing job is curly maple and Walnut.

This is a bow i just sent to Texas not long ago .

I've been moving at a snails pace lately, and having a tough time logging a lot of time in the shop.... on my feet anyway....I spend more time sitting than standing these days, and tough to get a lot accomplished that way.

For the last couple months i've been fighting a pinched sciatic nerve in my back that just won't tame down.
I've had ruptured discs for many years, and wont let them operate on me. I typically get through it with an inversion table and some acupuncture in 4-6 weeks time. But It's hanging on this time for some damn reason. It's getting old, and cramping my style...... Maybe i should say getting old is cramping my style... LOL

Geez that really sucks Kirk I feel for you man I’m going on six months  not being able to work dealing with my disks,  just an FYI I started having spinal decompression therapy ( The Cox’s method ) google that for more info, and I am having some improvement so I think it’s working I’ve only had three treatments  I go three times a week not cheap but sitting at home not being able to work or  enjoy the stuff we like to do is sucking , there telling me now a year to a year and a half to completely heal this.  😜

I checked out that Cox Therapy, and quite frankly, that scares the hell out of me. I don't much care  for the idea of getting put on a rack like that at all..... "Ooooops! did i stretch you out too far?.... I'm sorry..."

Not going to happen with this old boy... I'm done with chiropractic clinics completely. I had one almost cripple me in the past.

I have found that you can get the same results on an inversion table, and you have total control of how much pressure is applied to stretching out that spine yourself.

I just need to get back to a regular use of mine again. Typically i'm good to go after a few weeks of using that thing and some acupuncture to help stimulate the circulation......

Good luck to you on this method bro... I'm going to pass on that one.     Kirk

I'm still in the shop daily bro.... But the time i actually spend on my feet is less than what i'd like. I'm starting to take more and more orders for limbs and bows, and i sure don't want to get behind schedule.

You can only do so much work at the work bench in a chair. I need to set up a higher stool with wheels so i can still run machines and have something to take some pressure off my back until this heals up. That would help.    Kirk
