One of the participants on the 2nd LTR23 hunt this year, Kodiak Fan - aka Jim V., brought his own smoke alarm and CO alarm.  Not surprisingly, Jim spent his career as a firefighter before his recent retirement.  They'll be on my list from now on.

Thinking back through my 60 years of hunting camps there were a couple of incidents that could've turned into tragedies  - we were lucky!  One due to smoke and the other a propane leak.

Yes sir,  had one on my last hunt in Wyoming. Definitely needed in any hunting camp.

One of the first trad archery instructional DVDs I ever watched was by a guy who was later burned badly in a hunting camp fire. His name escapes me right now.

Yup. That's the fellow. Now that you've reminded me of his name, I remember his situation was pretty unusual in that somebody got white gas and water confused. It was pretty terrible.

I don't think it's unreasonable for a person to haul a CO detector and a smoke alarm along. I used up 8 of my 9 lives before I turned 35 and I've been pretty careful ever since.
