I have a caribow longbow that has bamboo limbs without a veneer covering. It was custom made in 2001 and I don't think that it has darkened.
The light color doesn't seem to be a problem hunting. There are a lot of light colored objects out there that we really don't notice until we start looking.

Nope, not under glass, and not unless ya sunbathed the limbs in UV for the rest of the year. :D
