Big Foot: Myth or in my hand?
« on: May 26, 2023, 12:39:48 PM »
I guess, unless we have a bunch of underdarock dwellers, we have all heard of the Big Foot myth. Some believe, even though there has never been a “real” provable sighting, no carcasses, no bones, no secretly discovered group of the beasts, nothing but a bunch of crazy tricks being played on the minds. Anyway, the one I have in my hand IS REAL, and it has changed everything for me. The Big Foot I am referring to is a bow, a Big Foot,  two piece Flatliner Stealth. Absolutely beautiful. Spec are 50# at 28”, I draw about 26 so am getting close to 44#’s at draw. Very easy to get there too, this bow is sweet. At 64” it’s my longest bow and my first “Real” long bow. All my bows, with exception of my Shatterproof RD Bones Hybrid, are sorta compound riser type grips and all are way different than the locator grip type on the Stealth. It wasn’t built for me, but you could not convince me different.
The locator grip fits like a glove and my first three shots were in the center of a slice of pool noodle, of which I have never done before, nor since. This bow has helped me along the path to good shooting and has even made me shoot my inferior bows better. Heck, you can’t beat that! Thanks Kirk for a beast of a bow but smooth as my morning espresso!

Kirk's bows are great. I wondered if he ever sold that bow.

Congrats!

Beautiful bow, enjoy it in good health!

I hope bigfoot/sasquatch is real and I also hope it's never proven. Faith and belief is enough for me.  :campfire:

Yes, I think you should have emphasized that a bit more, maybe like a slap to the back of my head. That’s stuff you can count on there! Thanks again!!

Well I’m sure glad you like it Johnny. :goldtooth:   I rarely build the two piece bows any more because quite frankly, I loose my arse on every one of them due to time spent and milling involved. I’d have to charge over a $1000 to build one now, and I’d still have too much time invested….

Here is a link to the build photos on yours. You can see what’s involved doing the sleeve connection. I’ve tinkered with other two piece connections and didn’t care much for the bow bolt, and the hinge type are butt ugly. I like the steel and brass connectors best.
