New here. Hobby bowyer. Mostly on here to pick your brains and learn things I do not know. Have a tendancy to build laminated board bows and some selfbows from hickory, and do so quite a bit.

Happy to meet you all!

Welcome jim!

Love the strung profile of your bow! Btw, your groups could be a bit tighter :biglaugh:

I'm an ok bowyer... and a garbage archer. Not sure if I am just no good, or shoot to many different bows. Or a combination thereof.

Welcome, Jim. Nice looking bow and it seems to shoot well too. I build mostly selfbows but some all wood backed bows too. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Amd another... I got about 25 bows now. Love building them more than using them.

I was looking closely at the one hanging off the cabinet. Looks like there is about 3” of  reflex coming out of the form the way she’s bending…, I was just curious.  Kirk

Not quite 3 inches... But yes sir, I did put some reflex in it. It was one of my earlier attempts at a tri-lam. Bamboo. bloodwood, and ipe. 55 at 30 inches

How much string follow, or set did you get from coming out of the form to current reflex shape?

Cool to see you and your bows here Jim. Welcome!

I make very similar bows - one of the most appropriate designs for wood imho. how long do you make them?

cheers
Simon

@ Kirkll- Maybe an inch or so with Ipe being the belly wood. More so with Hickory... Abount an inch with osage as well... With the quad lam... i took an inch as well

@ simk- I have almost a 30 inch draw... NTN mine are usually 69-70 inches

I'm still learning so almost every build is slightly different. So alot of my answers will change here in the future I'm thinking.
