Art Vincent Powderhorn Stalker Quiver
« on: May 03, 2023, 05:11:08 PM »
Just ordered a 58" Toelke Whistler. Got to talking to Dan about quiver options and he recommended the Powder Horn Stalker. I have a Chinook and keep a quiver on it but I think with the new Whistler I want to go with a quiverless bow for ground hunting and stalking. Anybody have on these style quivers and able to give feedback and opinions?

I’m one of those weird people that doesn’t like bow quivers. I’m convinced there is no such thing as the perfect quiver for all occasions, so I have several and the powder horn is one that I use a lot.  It is very well made and I think it will last a lifetime.  It takes a little getting used to, especially with a pack, but it works well. I added a cover to protect the fletching and cut down on visible movement.  If you have ever used an Asbell quiver it’s like a larger version of that.

Art makes some of the FINEST leather goods you can buy.  He does a lot for country music singers.

That is a nice quiver!!!  You can pass that down it will last so long.

The quiver does look very well made. I've never used a side quiver before so I'm unsure of the ergonomics and practicality of carrying your arrows in that fashion. I've looked at pretty much all the options and the Powderhorn seems like one of the best in that genre. Any other quivers I should consider before placing an order?

Might be worth looking into the Safari Tuff arrowmaster also.  Those are the 2 I use the most and they will both work well whether walking or stand hunting.

I primarily hunt reclaimed coal country and clear cuts. You guys that use the side quivers ever have any issues with getting snagged up with it? I like a bow mounted quiver pretty good but hate it when I have my bow layed on the ground or in my lap while stationary or on a stalk.

Anybody know how the hood size would fit the Simmons broadheads? Would there be plenty of space for wider heads?
