Long bow or recurve
« on: May 14, 2008, 07:00:00 AM »
I have shoot a recurve for years. But now  maybe try a long bow. What are the advantages of the long bow over a recurve. I am 6ft 2inch in height and now shoot several bows in the 45 to 50 lb range and have a draw length of 28 inches. Can you recommend a long bow brand, model and length of bow I should consider.

my thanks
Bill

I suggest going to as many traditional archery shoots/events as possible and get your hands on every longbow there. you're know it when you feel/shoot it.

good luck

I agree 100%... what is great for one person, is the (Bad Word) to others. Only you can fine the best feeling long bow...

some long bows have what is know as a Hill style handle, or handles like most selfbows have.. way different from a recurved bow or a wheelie bow. This amoung other thing plays a roll on what kind/bowyer do you get.
