Would you come? SE Ia. Traditional shoot.
« on: May 29, 2023, 09:24:56 PM »
Been having conversations with our local club about bringing back our Traditional shoot. Hoping it works out for next year. Our club is located just south of Ottumwa a few miles. We have 80 acres , a nice shelter house/kitchen.  Plenty of camping space. 4 trails with 10 targets each, a practice range. It's a beautiful place. Just curious how many would consider attending. I told the club president I'd check with you all. Thanks Greg

I’m from west-central Indiana. It’d have to be a three day gathering to make it worth the 6 hour +\- drive for me.

I've been talking to a few vendors.  At this time I don't have a date to give them. I'm hoping for a May date not conflict with the Tennessee Classic,  but nothing definite. Our typical shoots are two day events, but that's something we can discuss.  I know when I travel for a shoot it's nice if they are 3 day events.

I would do my best to attend any Iowa traditional shoot, but May is always a challenging month for scheduling conflicts with kids in school and the last two weeks of turkey season.  I sure miss having traditional shoots around the state like we used to 20-30 years ago.

I would be interested depending on the dates.  May is the Tennessee Classic, then 2 weeks later we go to Jerry Pierce Memorial shoot in MS. Then Cloverdale and Compton in June. It's abpout 5 hours for me. Be nice for a 3 day event.

Looks like 876 miles from San Antonio TX, so would have to be a three day shoot.  But it would be a good visit with you Jim.
