« on: July 26, 2023, 12:47:27 PM »
Hi everyone,
I'm going to buy new string. would like to do the same on new string at the in of the loops.
where can I buy the material and what is it:-)., it looks like some time of wool thread. it doesn't
look that hard to wrap the string. Has anyone else done this on there bow.

Yea, it's wool, depending upon who you buy your string from there are string makers that include that wrap as an option when ordering.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

I used to wrap my Dacron strings when shooting my Damon Howatt Hunter 65#.  It helped dampen the noise a bit and didn't seem to detract from performance all that much.  I usually wrapped from the Y of the loop down the string, so that any string touching the limb was covered.  Don't any more since I started using para cord sheath string silencers.

Thanks for the info, is there a place you can buy the wool. going to look up
para cord sheath string silencers. I'm going to Joann's or Michael for the wool.

I just bought new strings with those included.  Check on ten ring strings.  Allen does a great job.
More bows than I should have!

With the para coed sheath, just pull out the white cords and put the length of sheath in the string like anu other silencer material.  Personally, I like 4x2" top and bottom, at 18.3% of string length.  JMVHO and YMMV!
