Homebrew feather grinder
« on: May 16, 2008, 11:54:00 AM »
Anyone got any pics of their Home made feather grinders? I've been using my right wing clamp from my jojan fletcher and a dremel with a grindin wheel. You have to be way too careful with that setup though. The ones i've looked at on 3rivers are so expensive, just thought someone might have one that they made.
Thanks,
Dannon

Have you tried making a feather book.  Two pieces of wood with a piano hinge and what ever you got laying around to hold it shut tight enough so the feather won't slip.  Either a belt sander or sand paper glued to  fixed board, long enough to get a flat stroke.

Here is a link to an earlier thread about grinding feathers and the grinder I made.
