Its been awhile since I have built a bow ,so Im trying to knock the cobwebs out of my head.
What method are you guys using to clean up/ square a riser block , knock off glue boogers after adding accents?

Thanks for any help

I use my edge sander, my table is square to the platen.
So I get 1 side flat like I want it by holding it off the table to the sanding belt, then I hold that side down to the table and sand 1 side. You can run it threw the thickness sander now to parallel the other 2 sides.

I always start out wider and thicker with my riser blocks to end up where I want them later.

I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

I Joint, plate, then cut up. Or I joint one side, flatten on the cnc, carve. Depends how I'm feeling. Quickest is putting on the edge sander though.

If you don’t have an edge sander, a good belt sander with 40-60 grit paper will take the fight out of it….. But you may want to consider wiping off some of that excess epoxy when you lay those up. That thing looks glue shopped BIG time…. A little lacquer thinner and a rag will save a ton of sanding… food for thought.   Kirk
