Been Busy This Spring & Summer
« on: August 11, 2024, 09:27:13 AM »
I've kept busy this year. Back in Aiken, I taught 10 people how to forge their first knife. That was rewording for me to pass the torch.

Then after beginning to loose strength about 4-5 years ago, I reduced a batch of my great old bows to 40 pounds. They were all in the 50/55 pound range. Now as I approach 79 years old, they have become too heavy again. So this summer I just finished reducing 20 of my all-time favorite bows to 30/33 pounds. I don't hunt anymore but I still enjoy shooting my bows. I have way too many bows to consider buying a 30pound bow when I can deduce weight on my old favorites...tippit

Jeff, that is awesome that you are passing the torch so to speak on your knife making skills. You could have just about made a living with those skills instead of your veterinary skills.  And as a backup side business you could have stayed busy lowering bow weight for us older guys!!

Thanks Randy,
Those so called skills have been my passions. I like seeing how others get enjoyment from learning them to. I don't charge anything for teaching. My payment is to see how.others enjoy the learning process.

This world needs more people like you. Keep doing what you love to do Jeff.
