Any one have a Shrew scout 52”. Just curious as to what quiver you have on it. Thanks

I’m using the Shrew quiver from Shrew Bows. I reversed the gripper to put 3 arrows closer to the bow limb and only keep a single arrow on outside. The outside arrow gets pulled first in stand and remaining 3 arrows stay tight to bow limb and out of the way of potentially brushing something.  I’m using 52” Scout and 29.5” arrows with 3 blade heads.
Here’s pictures:

You’re welcome Donald.  In the second picture you see how I sit on stand and the bow rests flat on my lap versus if there were arrows in the outside grippers it would ‘rock’. There are 3 screws that hold the bottom gripper on the Shrew (Great Northern) quiver. Very easy to turn the gripper around.  In the first picture you can see how far the outside arrows would be from the profile of the bow. I don’t like that for sitting on stand. I think it balances the bow better too.

That is a great idea, Ray! I never thought about doing that with the distribution of arrows on the Great Northern quiver. You are a bright guy!

Glad to pass along my findings.  I also continually learn stuff here on Tradgang so just trying to pay it back.

One of my Shrewhaven buddies asked if by reversing it did I have trouble quietly getting an arrow out if I needed a second arrow.  When I shot the doe in the picture it was so quiet and she stumbled at 40 yards and I knew she was going down right over the ridge. I quietly grabbed a second arrow and sat for another hour which included watching a nice 8 point chasing deer back and forth past me for 15 minutes at about 50 yards.  So bottom line is I can get better bow balance, less chance of bumping a low limb or tree stand cable and still get quiet arrow removal for a second shot.  I have no qualms about only carrying four arrows into the woods.

Ray gives good advice.I think thats a Great northern Quiver with Shrew logo? Not sure?

Anyway with my shorter bows I like the quiver to be setback and at an angle particularly for hunting on the ground and keeping the arrows fletching/nock end out of the dirt and or ground. The Great northern kickback and extreme kickback are setback well and work well on shorter bows.Particularly when hunting on the ground. But may help in the treestand as well for clearance with the stands base and cables.

Thier are other quivers that have have the setback feature. The GN is very nice. The extreme kickback is for really short bows I believe.I have the kickback model.

Eric,
Yes, Great Northern built this for Shrew bows and it’s I believe an extreme kickback or modification there of.
One thing I forgot to mention is I had to modify the foam in the hood with my hunting knife to position the 3 blade heads where I wanted them. Not a problem but just a heads up
