Dang. High animal density and the use of bait really is a different animal. I guess I "hunt the hard way" with my weapon but everything else about it is easy. Last weekend I went to a large property that doesn't get bow hunted at all and hunted feeders and corn piles and I literally missed 5 deer (I have excuses for half of them) and killed the 6th one I shot at. This year I've killed 2 bucks, 2 does, 4 pigs, and an elk.

I usually get one each year. Several years I will get two. Last year I got a doe and a 10 pt buck. This year has been tough. I haven't taken a shot yet. I did pass on several young bucks, mostly forkhorns. Haven't been able to get close to a doe yet.

Usually 3-4 per year, Renee can't eat beef or pork but venison doesn't bother her. Must be the steroids and meds in farm raised meat?
Works out well for me, she encourages me to hunt and fish, but sometimes I think store bought would be cheaper.
