Dont know where your going or the situation of the hunt but its very possible those hawgs are moving late night. A good operation will be able to put you on them Im sure during the day but you never can tell

It is Hot here now.  Get a real good bug spray because the ticks and chiggars are out in droves.  I hunted last weekend and killed two pigs and am still putting Neosporin on my damaged legs.  Where are yall going?  You are in a great month for pig hunting man....they need water bad right now and its not as hot as it will be in August if you can believe that.  Have fun and post plenty of pics.

Pair of leather gloves and snake boots or chaps if your going to south Texas. Was 100 degrees here Friday....lots of water.

if there is water on the place you are hunting hang out there during miday, hogs don't have sweat glands so the have to have water, if there is a creak or small river stalk down the edge of it. pigs will sometimes sleep in the water or close to it.  unless the water has cover nearby the pigs don't like to hang out the run down to the water and run away. at least that is the way the do it in south texas.
i haven't looked at thte moon chart but if it is light enough out i would corn a road and hunt it in the late evening or night.

bring your snake boots and judos to shoot the snakes.

good luck

Gerardo

where are you going in texas?

Don't need two pair of boots unless you have extra room. I just erased a rattler pic from the Abilene area weighed at over 100#. They get active around dark. You're not as likely to get bit as you are to miss a shot at something because your eyes are always peeled to the ground. Snake leggings will ease your mind. 1 good fixed blade skinner will be plenty. Don't know what under armor is. If its hot, leave it. You'll put the water bladder to the test. Beer cooler? After a good size hike nothing goes down like something ice cold. You will have fun. Get pics.

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

hunt it

I know everything is bigger in Texas but 100# rattlers?????  I'd like to see that one, beer cooler in that story someplace. If snakes are gettin that big I'd leave the judos at home and carry a defender.
hunt it
