Bow for a kid
« on: May 26, 2008, 10:17:00 PM »
Hey everyone. I am new here and have been reading alot of the forum sinse joining. I bought a longbow from one of the members here and have been shooting it and having a ball. I have a ten yr old son that is really interested in the longbow as well. He has been trying to shoot mine but it is way to much for him. What would be a good bow to try and find for a kid wanting to shoot traditional. He is a great shot with his compound, ask Joel Smith, but wants to follow dad and try something new.

Thanks Okie 1. Thought more than one other person might have a child that shoots.

Definitely check out Maddog Bows.  Mike makes great bows for kids.  I have three boys, oldest is 10 and they all have Maddog longbows and love them.  Mike did a great job with elk antler limb tips, leather grip and custom woods under clear glass.  Very nice.

Kustom King has a nice take down recurve for about a hundred bucks.
