shooting off the shelf

I have darton take down 50# it looks like it was made for a rest I like to shoot off a shelf can this bow be coverted by filing the riser

You could do that, but an easier and safer way would be to build up the riser to radius it. You can use leather, glue several pieces together from larger to smaller, then sand them into a curved/radiused shape and glue that to the shelf. Or you can use something like peep tubing or other cushioned material and place that underneath a larger piece of velcro,leather, or other shelf material.
