Quick snakeskin question
«

I'm just about to start finishing a bow (He'd call it a blank, but it's basically finished!) from John Scifres. It's a sinew backed Osage recurve.
I've got the Bocote tip overlays on, filed & finished & I'm about to throw on a magnificent bullsnake skin.
My question is; The Sinew was applied with TBIII, am I ok using TBIII for the skin application, or should I use something else?
Also, what's the best finish to apply over the skins & rest of the bow?

Yes. Titebond III will work fine. So will TB II. Can use a spray finish like Deft or Helmsman. (May not be available in the UK.) Lots of folks also use Birchwood Casey gunstock finish. That's applied by hand. An older finish is something called french polish, also applied by hand. It's half linseed oil and half shellac. Good luck.

TBIII is ideal for applying the skins and (brace yourself) a very good finish would be TBIII.
