Arrow weight
« on: June 02, 2008, 05:39:00 PM »
I have a 53# Chek-Mate T/D  recurve, shooting 30inch  GT 35-55 carbon arrows.I was wondering,if I add a 100gr insert on the arrow, how will the extra weight affect the shooting properties of the arrow(if any)I was first set up with GT 55-75 but was shooting all over the place. Is there any other arrows out there that I should maybe try?I want my arrows to weigh around 500gr for hunting. Thanks   Steve

Whats your draw length?  Are you shooting 53# at your draw?

i'm using the same arrow out of my 55# recurve (i'm pulling 52#) if you use a 125gr b/head & a 125gr adapter that arrow will weigh 500grs +/- a few gr's. i shoot that combo but with a 3gr/" weight tube for 590grs. they fly great for me.
