I dont know how long this will be around, but i have seen people tack whole pelts to their wall(like a pheasant flying). The feathers make great attractors for trapping. Fly tieing. Wind checker tied to a bow. i use white&black goose feathers tied in trees as yardage markers around my tree stands. Have seen a few arrows fletched with pheasant feathers.

There are some gorgeous wreaths made from pheasant capes, but you will need a few more.

My wife used one on a vine wreath and decorated it with fall colored leafs. It turned out great. One thing to do is spray it with some raid so the timy bugs do not eat it away.
I do not have any pics of the wreath, sorry

WE use the whole pheasant for various typef of trout/fishing flies.
Shot some birds a buddy bought live to train his dog. Gawd! Skinned one and it was so full of fat (unlike a wild bird) that it was impossible to flesh it to dry it w/ borax to use for tying. I had to pitch it. I have one in a vacuum bag full size and see if freezing does anything to help remove the fat on the skin...them pen raised birds got lotsa fat!
Keep changing regular ole 20 Mule Team Borax and scrape good. Ziplock with moth balls and when you decide, it will be fine.

Doc nock got to it before i could spit it out. we use the tail feathers and some of the breast plates feathers for tying flies. one of my favorite patterns is the pheasent tail nymph. Like doc said make sure you let it dry out before storing it in a plastic bag...they can get stinky!

There is also a Gartside Pheasant Philo (?) nymph and what we called a Swallow nymph.
the tail is the inside of the leg maribou feather, then a "church window" feather from the back and the philo head made from that fuzzy li'l feather on the back of the church window feather.
