Tough Decision!!!
« on: February 18, 2007, 12:56:00 PM »
Liberty Chief, Habu Death Adder, or Rose Oak King Panther?  I have the money and have narrowed it down to 3, but can only afford one and it will be my ONLY bow for the time being.  BTW, I have always shot recurves but always wanted to break into shooting longbows.  Just looking for opinions from yall.  Which would you choose?  Sorry to keep rehashing this, but when you can only afford one, you better love it!

I've never shot a Liberty or a Habu.  I did shoot a couple of Brandon's bows at Cloverdale last year and I was impressed.  Smooth draw out past my usual 29+ draw.  Quiet with good speed.  He's on my list to buy from this year.

The base Adder looks to be about twice the price of the base Panther or Chief...just on price alone I would probably lean towards the Rose Oak or Chief.

Other than that, it's longbow vs recurve and I doubt anyone could help you much with which one you prefer.

As most here know, I've been really really pleased with my purchases from Brandon and can recommend him whole heartedly.  He is an artest who does things I've never seen other bowers do.

On the other hand, I've heard only good things about Liberty as well.

Best of luck with the decision.

They are all three very different bows.  Have you shot any of them.

If not I would get a DAS.  At least you can change things easily to make it suit you.

I don't know which ones are takedowns other than the Adder (which would be my choice except for the price). But I would recomend a 3 pc takedown. Lots of reasons.

Buy the Chief and the Panther! Two for the price of one. Can't beat Allen and Liberty bows especially the Chief! Have heard nothing but good things about Rose Oak either. That's my $.02 worth. Best wishes!

I own two of Allens Liberty bows. He can fill the order quickly unless hes gotten snowed under. All of his bows are great shooters and the craftsmanship is superb. Top shelf bows at a bargain.

Never shot a Rose Oak but between the other two I would go with the Liberty, just me  :)

Do yourself a favor. Don't listen to anyone else. Buy the one that you want. This bow isn't for any of the people that are offering their opinions, although they are all very well meaning and love the bows that they love, this bow is for you. (Please don't anyone else take offense to this.) If you like the looks of one over the other, if you like the handle and the way it fits in your hand, if you toss a coin and it comes up heads for one of them, the bow is for you. Please YOU! You will own it, You will shoot it, get what you want. You will have it for a long time. There, that is my two cents. I hope you love whatever you get and enjoy whatever you get. Shoot straight and shoot often and smile when you are doing it because you'll be on the right side of the grass and doing something you love. Good Luck!

A few mentioned price:  All of these are within $50 of each other. The habu is used ( lightly), and the others are new.  All are great deals.  Jwingman, I am only looking for opinions on which bows are preferred.  The final decision will be mine, of course.  Thanks for the advice though.
