Hey all,
I would like to find a site that has pictures of the different kinds of woods that bows are made of. What prompted this thread is the post that has the pictures of a new Hill Cheetah. The Hill Cheetah is listed as being made of Juniper and bamboo lams. I don't know what juniper looks like, I'd like to know though. Unfortunately the Hill site doesn't have any pictures that can be of any refrence with respect to the wood choices.
If you look at the Hill site they list several different bows with their own unique wood combinations. They use bamboo, osage, juniper, Red elm, yew, and honey locust, but I can't find anywhere an actual picture of what these woods look like.
When all these different names of woods get tossed around it's easy to get a bit confused if you don't know what they look like. I have been to Mr. Dick Wightman's Hill Fans site and checked out his numerous pictures and got a taste of what's possible, but I'd like to know more.
So if you have a site or info you can send me that will help me learn what these different woods look like I would certainly appreciate it. Besides, I can't be the only one hanging around here that doesn't know the difference between a red elm and a yew bow.
Thanks for your help and time.
