How about thread with bows and arrow setups?
«
on:
June 18, 2008, 11:09:00 PM »
With the many questions that come on here about arrow wts, foc, etc.- I was just wondering if we could ever put an ongoing thread where we could post bow specs with arrow set-up specs. It could be set up alphabetical, by bow wt, or arrow wt. . . I know there are many variables, but I wonder if it would help us to get in the ballpark on a particular wt./arrow set-up we may like to try. It could save time and money for us. . . Just a thoughts???
Thanks
Dan

What about a special forum for this type info?? No??? Maybe it would not work. Be cool to look up your style of bow and see what guys are shooting.

Big River 66" R/D longbow 47 @28"
Howatt Hunter 62" recurve 45 @28"
RER Vortex R/D hybrid longbow 46@28
I draw 30-1/2" so I shoot all the bows in the 51-53 pound range. I have been shooting cedars and 70-75 spine 31" to bop worked out just fine. Finished arrow weight with 3-fletch and 125 field point is around 600 gr. Recently switched to Beman classic MFX 400 full length with the standard HIT insert, 4-fletch and 125gr. points and they shoot fantastic. Finished arrow weight is just shy of 500gr.

57# @ 26" Great Northern Bushbow, and 53# @ 26" Sheepeater Spirit...was able to tune the bows to the same arrow. 60-64# POC cut to 26.5", 200 gr head, 3-fletched with 5 1/2" shields, total arrow weight about 675 gr. Have messed with some carbons lately (AD Trads), but think I like my woodies better.
