MOAB or Shawnee

I am in the market for a hunting, take-down longbow and I think that these two are pretty good choices. Anyone have both? (Shawnee with bamboo or foam dakota limbs)?

I have a Shawnee and just love it. Smooth, quiet, fast, and no hand shock. Just a great bow overall. The foam carbon limbs are just a pleasure to shoot and IMO are far superior to the boo limbs.
I am sure their will be others along to add more. But I will say give Bob a call and do a test drive to see for yourself what all the hype is about.
Can not comment on the MOAB but I believe Terry Green has one so you may want to give him call.
From what I have read on here the MOAB is an excellent bow and I do not believe you will go wrong with either bow.
I will say that to me the 3 piece Shawnee and my 2 piece LB's are not in the same category. They shoot and feel so much different from each other that I would say try and shoot both types. As for myself I like the 3 piece Shawnee over any other LB I have shot.

I now have 2 shawnee's and my opinion they are hard to beat!!!! fast quiet and hits with authority.Foam core limbs are the only way to go.Owned a MOAB and my opinion NO COMPARISON!!!SHAWNEE IS ONE OF THE SWEETEST SHOOTING BOWS ANYWHERE.I had 14 bows and now own 2 shawnees and a MORRISON ILF ALL WITH FOAM CORE.And a 1 piece DAKOTA foam core limb design on the way.

Dean, your Morrison collection seems a little excessive, I think you should have the Dakota shipped to me
, if you'd like, I'll pm you my address.
Having owned both...still have the Shawnee, I'd say they are both very good shooting bows, the Moab is a good pointing/shooting bow, very quiet, not as fast as the Shawnee. Depending upon your shooting style, you really couldn't go wrong with either one.

Blonde or brunette? Seriously, do you know what you are asking us to choose?
Both are excellent and at the top of their respective category. I do believe they are too different to compare side by side. I cannot think of a good reason not to have either one. I have had the Shawnee with foam/carbon limbs and only let it go for a Cheyenne with foam/carbon. They are that smooth and fast. For a light, quick, smooth and shootable longbow the MOAB is tough to top. Sell your car and get both. It's easier that way.

I love my Morrison Recurves, shot my 68#er this AM matter of fact, and killed a lot of critters with them....
But if I want to shoot a longbow, I'll take the MOAB. If I want a TD LONGBOW, I'd get the MOAB to go....I've got one on order.

I have shot both and you can't go wrong with either. I have a MOAB on order because it seems to suit me more slipping thru the swamps. I just hope it gets here by August so I can get comfortable with it on hogs before deer season comes in.
