Martin Serengeti

I am thinking ofbuying a Martin Serengeti recurve.
Has anyone had experience with this bow? I know Martin does not make it any longer.

I have one, marked 55#@28", but I think it's heavier than that. Nice bow, pretty to look at. It was my one and only recurve, I went back to shooting my longbows, and liked it. I guess that's just what I prefer. By the way, it's a screamer.

I have a 2007 Serengeti, 50#@28. I love it.
If I could afford another one I'd buy it before they aren't available anymore.
Cabelas still had them a week or so ago.
I recommend it John. Very smooth and fast!
I put a rubber shur-grip on mine, the grip can be very slippery with sweaty hands.
Get one and enjoy!

John,
If you get the Serengeti, be a little careful when you string it with a bow stringer, as you pull up on the bow, it has a bad habit of wanting to "flip" over in your hand, the shur-grip really helps in keeping a good grip on the bow.

I arrowed this 4 1/2 yr old doe with a 55# Serengeti a couple years back. A fast bow for sure. The only thing I didn't like is that the limbs felt a little flimsy at the tips, like they would twist easily if not strung right. I used a stringer with mine and never had any problems, it did feel like it was a pain to string, but that's the only thing I can think of. Brace height was best at 7 7/8 if I remember correctly.
