Bowyers I need help
« on: July 01, 2008, 11:52:00 PM »
Just made my first glass bow and it is 15lbs heavier than I need. What are the best methods to loose weight? It is a 68 in td longbow.
thanks

If I remember right, all you have to do is remove little more on the sides. It's the bevel/taper that makes the weight.

get some tape on the limbs and get a real good centerline.  then take some off both sides, then take somemore off the back or the belly by Trapping the limbs, be careful and go slow. should be able to get ten lbs easy.  if you have used .050 glass you can probably sand the back adn the belly flats and get a little more use 220 then 320.  good luck
