Does anyone know the spine weight of a Carbon Express 150? I am looking for the spine in terms of arrow weight. What is the spine on a tester?

what length arrow? what type of bow? is it cut short, to, or past center? what point weight is desired?
With those, you can get a good starting point. Others will chime in once this is known.

We have bareshaft tuned many bows. The CX Heritage will fly well in most bows that are between about 48-58 lbs depending on shaft length, point weight, string material, how the riser is cut, etc.
Every bow is different, my bow which has foam/carbon limbs, 44#, requires a CXH 250 using a 175 gr point, 30-30.5". But this is not normal, most bows of the mid 40# range require a 150 that is 30.5-31" long.

If you put it on a traditional spine tester, what would it be? It was posted a .487 deflection, what is that in spine weight like a wood shaft?

dragonheart,
The CE 150 equivalent wood spine is 64.7#.
For any aluminum or carbon shaft divide 31.5" by the deflection. For the CE 150: 31.5/.487 = 64.7

Cupcake, that is measured with a 14" centers is it not. Woodies are measured with 13" centers, maybe I am wrong but I thought done the traditinal way the 150s are more aound 70#s. Shawn

I shoot a 29.5" Heritage 150 with 175 grains up front out of all my high performance recurves that are 51-54#s. Shawn

Shawn,
That is measured with the 13" centers of the woodies. The formula I gave is good to convert any shaft to the woodie 13" centers from the 14" centers. I worked out the conversion using beam deflection theory and verified my equations with measurements.

Im looking at trying some of these shafts out with my new recurve it's a 63#@28" i draw 29" so its going to be around 66#@29" min 30" arrow and i like 225 grains up front. Would the 350's be the go for this weight? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I called Carbon Express and told em what my set up is. I measured my actual draw length, then pulled my bow on a scale and measured the pounds@ my draw.. I called CS and talked to a guy at support, giving him all the details and he e-mailed me what shaft and length to use. It was spot on, as my 150's fly perfect out of my Morrison now. All I had to adjust was the nock height.
