I`ve not shot a Wallace but have seen one. It was very good craftsmanship and the fellow that had it could shoot it. It was a lefty is why I did`nt get to shoot it.I have a Hill cheetah and have shot a Wesly special a lot.I can say nothing bad about the Hill bows Craig builds and would recommend one . I`ll probably buy another myself.I don`t see where you could go wrong with either.RC

I have never owned or shot a Hill. I hope to someday. I know hill makes a fine bow. I have a Wallace Mountain longbow by Dave Wallace. It is a finely crafted longbow, second to none! Many people don't know of Dave. He was a lineman for the power company in Ohio I believe. Dave lives near Marietta. He builds bows in his spare time. I also believe he is retired now. He is an avid shooter also. He has won the IBO World Longbow Championships the last two years in a row with one of his own longbows. I have owned dozens of high end bows and I can honestly say I have never seen a D style bow cast an arrow like this one! They are quiet and very accurate. I presently have mine in the classifieds mostly because of the draw weight. The more I shoot it though the more I want to keep it. I thought I might call Dave today and see if he could reduce the weight for me. IMHO you can't go wrong with a Wallace Mountain longbow! Here's a pic.

I'm a big fan of HH bows, if that's the style you like/shoot well. I've had several over the years and loved every one of 'em.
I do have a Wallace Mtn I recently traded for, very nice attention to detail, beautiful finish, some of the narrowest limb tips I've ever seen. I just wish mine was 5# heavier.
Mine's cocobolo riser with two inner lams of yew and two outer lams of bamboo under clear 'glass, 60@30

Kevin , nice bow!Let me know if you ever want to get rid of that Wallace. It would be around 51#S for me at my 27" draw.

Bentpole,
I draw 26.5", getting 49# out of it. I love the workmanship and the way it shoots, seems pretty quick with a 535gr POC, but I'm a horse-trader at heart. If the right Hill came along, especially a takedown, it would be awful tempting.

I have owned several of both...including the one Kevin now has...
Both bowyers of at the top of the list for fit and finish. I prefer the Wallace Mountain's smaller grip and tiny but fancy tips... I do not like the sharp grip but fixed that in just a few minutes...
If I shot this type of bow more Kevin would not have his...

Bob's right on target, it's a honey. I love the grip he re-shaped on the Wallace so much, I did a similar one this week on a 7 Lakes I had traded for. You're right Bob, it isn't that hard, just take your time.
Plus, I love the looks of the tips, never seen any that small and sleek.

Hey Bob, if I decide to go to the trouble to get Dave to take some weight off my Wallace Mountain maybe you could do me a grip like Kevin's.
That grip is awsome!

heck Leonard...you make bows...you can do the grip...
I'll bet it's hard to get much weight off the bow...there isn't anything left to remove...
They are awesome bows.

Wallace Mountain bows are sweet, I hope to buy another one someday. Maybe a 68"-70" if he makes one.

Nice bow Kevin, I shot with Dave not to long ago. He is one good shot! His personal bow has translucent tips, you could see the light through them.

Dave, they are really nice bows. I especially like the attention to detail he puts into the bows tips and symmetry.

no offense but Howard would have battered him in a fair fight....just too much power from shootingthose heavy bows.

Randy, Dave does not have a web site. If you would like to call him his number is 740-373-8910. You might try him in the evenings. Hope this helps.
