Difference in various bows newb question
«

Im a newb when it comes to recurves, but I have a couple of Pearson recurves(matching pair I found at a flea market) one is a 50# 58"mustang and one is a 55# 52" spoiler. I keep hearing how everyone loves the bears, I just want to know is there really that much of a difference between the two(I have not been able to try one, much less see one locally). I have a few other recurves (shakespear, black hawk, and a darton its a bad addiction) Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks

Hey,
There are many people on here that can tell you everything you want to know about Bear bows. I'll let the real experts tell you about the technical stuff.
As someone who was loking for a bow to buy several months ago, I can say that there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in the bows when it comes to desirability and collectibility. You could get rid of a Bear MUCH easier than the others you mentioned. There are people that have walls full of Bear bows, I don't think the others inspire that kind of dedication and interest. Of course I am speaking generally about the Bear brand vs. the others you mentioned.
So if resale value, inherent worth, desirability and the like are important to you then I would go and try to pick up a Bear or 2 and get your collection started. I'm sure the bows you have now are just fine and are great bows and would give a lifetime of shooting enjoyment.
The experts can tell you about the technical stuff. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.
