help glueing in screw-in adaptors

I am going to buy some Tusker broadheads and put scerw-in adaptors in them to use on my carbon arrows. Any advice on glueing them in would be greatly appriciated. I have not done this before and want to get them put on the so they will spin true.

I use hot melt glue and a spin tester. Reheat as needed. Too much heat will ruin the arrow.

Like PV said, heat is best avoided with carbons which makes epoxy a real good option.  It will give you plenty of time to align the head before it sets up and is still heat reversible.  Be sure to clean the insides of the head first with Iso-alchohol or acetone, as well as the outside of the adapters if you are using the steel ones (not necessary with aluminum adapters).

Doug, what I do with mine is as follows, I clean the adapter and the inside of the broadhead ferrule with some alcohol, then I screw the adt. into the arrow. I now heat up the broadhead holding it with a pair of pliers for this I use a propane torch, I like to get the flame inside the Ferrel just to burn any excess oil that might be in there from manufacturing. Now I set the broadhead down and heat up my glue stick and apply it to the adapter, then I pick up my broadhead and heat it up a little more, then I put the head on the adapter and push it on using the point against my workbench, orientation of the head will be your choice I like my blades vertical when my arrow is nocked but that is just me. As I'm pushing the shaft into the blade I like to twist the shaft back and forth a little make sure your adapter is tight so it wont move, I hold it with pressure on it till it cool a little then I dip it in cold water that I have right by. After this I put the point on my workbench with the shaft vertical I then spin it to see how it is, if it spins good I leave it if not I reheat and try it again till it is right.

Do like Apex and Stone Knife, but use a kevlar glove on my left hand and twist the head on tight, spin on the anvil on my vice, twist a little, spin, twist, spin, etc, until I find the sweet spot for that combo...that way you don't have to reheat.  Especially good for carbons.

Also, a just cut a chunk off a hot glue stick and stuff in the ferrule and heat until it melts.  Try not to heat the edge to hot...just enough on the ferrule to melt the hot glue.

I use an old xx78 in 2219...super tough and super straight...to get my broadheads mounted straight.  I don't like any heat near those carbon shafts.  Once cooled I screw them on the hunting shaft and double check with a spin.

I use 24hr epoxy, clean both broad head and insert with alcohol. Then I use a block of soft wood and then add epoxy to insert and put it into broad head and then tap insert into broad head with point driven into wood. I use a piece of hardwood on threaded portion and keep tapping insert until it's in as far as possible. This drives out air and seems to align broad heads. I then let them sit like this overnight.
