Ash, laminated birch and maple would all make a heavy, tough arrow. I personally like the look of maple, but my 60-65 at 29.5" makes an 800gr arrow with 160 up front.

Bill Carlson, a member here, has been cleaning out his old stock of ash and other woods.  Perhaps he can help out.

Thanks Yall, Raptor looks pretty cool, but I think Iwill save a bit mopre and get ash footed with purple heart. Sounds good anyway though I will let Ted advise a bit! as I don't know anything more than it "sounds good". Will keep using carbon but I am thinking that when it boils down to it a good heavy wood arrow is pretty good choice. At least get a half dozen and see how they act out of my silvertip.

Thanks Yall

Jason
