Returning to Trad!
« on: July 21, 2008, 12:12:00 PM »
Hello all!

First of all, thanks to everyone here for sharing your insights and experience.  I have been lurking here for a few months, and I cannot believe how much information is available!

I used to shoot trad about 12 years ago with a 35# recurve, eventually moving up to a 55# PSE takedown.   Not sure what happened, but my shooting buddy and I got kinda busy and stopped going...long story short, I sold off my equipment and we are both starting over!

Well about a month ago, we were talkin and askin "Why the hell did we ever quit?"...

So, we're both excited as hell to be returning to trad.  Feels like coming home.

Right now I'm just waiting for my bow to get here (found a great deal on a '75 Ben Pearson Mach one at 45#) and admiring all the bow pics on the site!

Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and opinions on this site.  Any other archers in Colorado Springs here?

Spencer

I'm in the north side of Colorado Springs!  Used to rifle hunt for years (my Dad used to compete in long distance rifle shooting) but just can't see taking any more game with them.

You're in Bayfield?  I used to spend alot of time in the Durango area, only been through Bayfield once or twice-liked what I saw though!

Neat to have you back.  Good luck shooting and enjoying the simplicity of it all.

Welcome home!
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
