Swapping limbs on Bob Lee
« on: February 22, 2007, 12:31:00 AM »
Anyone swapped recurve limbs and put them on a differant Bob Lee riser? If so what did you learn? Did they fit and did they line up? Did the string track true? Thanks for looking!

Yup and yup, but cosmetically(sp?) they looked lousy. Y acan send them to the Lees and they will make them right for a fair price, actually pretty cheap price. Shawn

I have mixed and matched many with no problems except some very older about 92-93 the limb base is longer about 1/2" so these do not match with newer risers and limbs some of the riser pad shows but still fits.Even longbow that are not supposed to match does for me.The mounting holes are fine for all limbs as far as I can tell.Kip

You can swap em to different risers, but the only problem would be what KIP said. Some limbs might be a little long, or the pads would show, but you can trim the pads down. I got to watch Bob make a bow last week. It was awesome. Justin

Like Kip said,  the only time I've run into problems is swapping newer limbs/riser with older ones.

I spoke to Rob a while back about new limbs and he said I'd need to send my riser back so they could fit the new limbs properly.

I have had Rob make me new limbs too and he wanted the riser to make sure everything fit right and they looked good.

If I were buying new limbs I would definately send them my riser but I've bought several sets of used limbs over the years and they all bolted on with no problems other than with an early 90's riser that I had.

I tried to put some limbs on a bow last year and they would not align properly. The string was off center. I then sent the riser back and had a new set made...perfect.

I just put a 2005 set on my 1993 riser.  The fit is not cosmetically perfect but the bolt holes lined up and the string runs down the center of the riser like it should.  For the $200 diff between what I paid for used limbs vs. brand new, I can live with it.
