You can't possibly attach enough stuff to a traditional bow to make it worth the sponsors interest. When you see sights, rests and releases that sell for over $100, that is where the money is.
I love to see guys on TV shooting traditional gear as long as they look like they know what they are doing. I have see a couple that think since they are such good bow shots, they might try the recurve for a hunt with no practice or experience.
I also think one of the deciding factors is distance, 60 and 70 yard shots are becoming more and more common if you watch all the bowhunting shows. They would feel severely handicapped if they were limited to 20-25 yards and have to pass on a lot of monster bucks.
