New Hill Country Longbow
« on: August 07, 2008, 09:34:00 PM »
I got home from work today and this was waiting for me. It's a Hill Country Hunter longbow made by Roman Hershberger, 46#'s @ 26". It's made with gray actionwood for the handle and limbs with a limb core of actionboo. The accent stripe is bubinga. The handle has a palm swell, which makes hand placement very consistant. I wasn't shooting it well till I relaxed my grip and let it just rest in my hand. Then I was very impressed with it. I'll try over the weekend to get better pics.

That's a good one. If I'm not mistaken that bow was at the East Holmes shoot on Saturday. I took Roman and 4 of his boys and his set up down for the day. Had a ball shooting with my kids and his. Roman makes some fine bows.

I am in the finishing stages of a review of Roman's "Harvestmaster" longbow. It is a very well made bow, with good eye candy and it shoots just fine.I hope to be finished the review this week.
