The Hill Stable Gets Larger "Pics"

Traded with Brackshooter for this beautifull 68" Wesley 60@28. I had wanted to try a 68" since my others are all 66", and I am very impressed with the smoothness and cast of this 68! Smooth as silk, and throws a 650 grain arrow with authority! The most pleasant supprise was how quiet it is compared to my 66" models. Even with the TS+ string it is dead quiet!! This definately won't be my last 68" longbow - it's a shooter for sure! Thanks Mitch for the excellent trade - I hope you enjoy the Liberty as much as I am this Wesley!

Since you have the opportunity to shoot both, what are your observations on 3 lams versus 5?

Very nice.  Shot my Big Five tonight with some new cedars and enjoyed it, as usual.  Lots of fun to shoot these bows.

Thanks for the compliments guys!! Shooty, I can't really make a fair comparison between the Tembo and the other two because it has lamboo core lams and a carbon back, while the others are regular bamboo and glass. I will say that even though it is the lightest of the three, it is also the fastest and has the least handshock - like shooting a mild R/D bow. The 68" Wesley is the smoothest - like budda! My opinion, and it's just that-an opinion, the higher the draw weight, the more lams you need up to the point where the grip becomes too large for your hand - I think Craig builds most of his 100+ lbs bows with four lams. Craig says the more lams the smoother the draw, but I honestly can't tell much difference.

I am really glad the bow has found a good home, its a very nice shooter, but the grip was a deal killer for me.  BTW, I really like the Liberty, its perfect for me right now, especially having to shoot lighter weight due to my injury. Shoots great and is quite a bit faster than I expected. Thanks again.

That's great Mitch - glad you like it! Allen builds a great bow, and so does Craig! I will have Allen build me another heavier one when he starts up again. When you want to try another Hill (and you know you will), try a narrow waist dished or a locator grip. They probably will fit you much better. Best of luck this season!
