I just chatted with Steve Turay here Saturday at the Great Lakes Longbow Invitational.  As far as I know he is running at his normal full speed.

I am sure there is a very valid reason for your bow "falling through the cracks" as we say in the insurance business.  From all my and my friends experiences with Steve, he is HYPER sensitive to his customers and runs his business to purposely avail himself in person or by phone to his customers and people in general.  His reputation for integrity really is beyond reproach and I'm not just saying that.  Try him early in the morning tomorrow, my guess is he is back in the shop from the latest show and will be all ears to your concerns.

Let us know how it goes.

Take care,

Jim Cavanaugh

I too visited with Steve at the GLLI, all is well but he is busier than one armed paper hanger. It took a few extra months to get my bow also.

Give him a call, he is usually in his shop by 3 AM.

I talked to Steve yesterday. He is installing some new equipment in his shop, and that has delayed him somewhat from finishing bows. He said he should be up and running again in a couple more days. Steve is a stand-up guy so don't worry! I know how you feel though, i'm waiting on a new "Classic" as well.

Hard to make bows when you're on the road trying to sell bows. Steve is at a lot of shoots and events.

Steve is a top shelf guy.  I ordered my first LB this past saturday from Steve.  Called him this morning to change the weight 5#.  If you didn't get your bow I am sure there is a good reason.  give him a call in the AM.

droptine.... i can understand your frustration... but, i will say that steve is a top notch guy and very customer oriented... my guess is youve just got caught between a few archery shows and him updating his shop... he'll take care of you for sure.

Yup cant say enough good things about Steve.  I know about being anxious for a new bow but dont worry Steve will follow through.  He might not be back home yet from the shoot this past weekend.  I am sure he will get in touch with you soon.

droptine... i just caught this same post over on stickbow....I think you can see by the replys.. Steve has built a very solid reputation and i truly think that your situation should be handled between you and Steve and not over the internet...just my 2 cents on this one....Way too many people read this stuff and get the wrong idea.  Steve has dedicated his whole life to traditional archery and supports and donates his time and products to a number of events.

He almost had me on a Baraga Saturday...but my wifes head kept popping up in my mind.

Oh well...he was in Hastings from Friday to Sunday so that might have something to do with it.

Nice looking bows though, hope you get it soon.  Post some pic's when you do.

Does the Baraga II have the locator grip with the thumb shelf?  The Baraga that I like had that type of grip...wow what a nice bow.  I will be buying either one of his or a Dwyer Dauntless in January at the Kzoo show.

Rich, give him a few calls and some time...he's busy for sure. He's a outstanding guy though and the extra wait will be worth it.

Jon & Josh, you won't be disappointed with the Baraga...a great bow that will heavy throw a heavy arrow well.

Rich - Steve is one of the most honorable guys you will ever meet. I agree with Jacobsladder, this situaton should have not been handled in this way.
