Tip weight for Battleshafts????
«

I am just thinking ahead. I have some 85#-90# Battleshafts coming for my 55#@28" Blacktail recurve (cut to center). I have tuned other shafts in this spine weight. But because these are heavier and have more weight forward because of the compression of wood in the tip they should tune differently. Was wondering if anyone would have an educated quess on tip weight?

dBecause your bow is cut to center, it will handle just about any over spine. Could easily put 160s on the end, even heavier heads IMO.

David,
I shot some of that spine weight out of my 60# Blacktail. I put 190 Gr Ace Super Express on them and they flew like darts. Killed a doe in Texas and the arrow zipped right through her and stuck in the ground. I draw 29" and If I remember correctly the arrows were 31" bop.

That's what I was thinking Orion...just not sure with that much forward weight.
Danny, that's good to hear. I have some 190s that I will put on some of them. Sounds like a major force to be reckoned with!!
