What size?
« on: August 19, 2008, 07:15:00 PM »
I have a #45 and #50 recurve. My draw length is 27". Could anyone suggest what size arrows to use and what spine in wood, carbon and aluminum also how long should the arrow be? Also, should I use wood, carbon or aluminum? thanks.

I would guess a 1916 or even a 1816 aluminum. And for wood a 40 to 45 spine in a 11/32.

Thanks Steve. How's everything down there in the Heart of Acadiana? I was born in Lafayette and most of my family still live in New Iberia. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

it depends on your tip weight but I would go with 2016 alums.  You can probably use 145 gr up front and not have a problem on a 28-29" shaft.
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.
