Hawaiina Hunt?
« on: August 23, 2008, 10:20:00 PM »
The wife wants to step out of the deep freeze this winter or next and travel to the big island to see freinds. Honestly I like ice floating around in the pool and am never quite comfortable as long as I can still see over the snow drifts so a Hawaii vacation never occurred to me. Then Tracy showed me an article on the problems hawaii has with exotic feral game animals, "hmmmm hawaii you say". Then I talk to a friend who has a friend who traveled to the big island too hunt and apparently the trad gang guys there treated him very well, seems hawaiians share the easy going friendly (too a point) attitude of Alaskans........I think Tracy is on to something here, anyone care too help make her argument? Tell me a little about the hunting opportunities in Hawaii.

pic up the latest issue of traditional bowhunter magazine. There is an article in there about just what you are talking bout.

Oh and btw, I am almost done with x-ray school. When i graduate i intend to work for a contract agency so that i can travel, and hawaii is first on my list  ;)

If you can still pick up the August issue of Traditional Bowhunter you will find an article by fellow tradganger Steve H on hunting those pesky goats and pigs.  He has been to Hawaii a few times to hunt them with good luck.

That's the article I was speaking about...small world!

Really looking more for the experiences of others, if there are any Tradgangers who'd like to hunt with me? That sort of thing.

Mouflon-fences = Very hot, sweaty and Happy Alaskan I think. Gotta "stick a pig" while I'm down there to. (Tracy put's the funniest voice too "stick a pig" puts a smile on my face every time. Oh hey legal bull in the yard gotta go!)

Rick;
As I told you before, if there is anyway I can hook up to hunt with you over there I will. You will need a guide you know!  :D
