Good luck, and shoot straight! I was debating since the cooler weather if I should bring my thermacall. Wheres Dodgeville? I'm west of Appleton, and Neenah

Bring the thermacell, Rich.   ;)

9 days and I STILL have a ton of work to do...

In the end I'll never be fully ready.

My wife is from Darboy.  She went to highschol in Kakuana.  ANyway, DOdgeville is about an hour west of Madison ( as the crow flies ).  I live north of Dodgeville, 7 miles south of the river.  It just may be one of the most scenic places in all of Wisconsin.

I don't get to exited until Oct.  I hunt up in Iron Cty most of the time.  Sept. is still to green for my taste.

Stands are set, EAB stickers received and arrows made. Now I just have to stop to get my tags and I'll be ready to go for next Saturday!

The opener may not be the BEST time of the season, but it's still exciting. It used to be that I didn't want to fill my tag too early, but with the abundance of antlerless tags available, Opening Day looks a bit brighter. Good luck to all, and have a safe hunt!

Speaking of fall Turkey.  I got a preference point.  What's up with that?

That means you will get a tag next year for sure!

I think you the only guy I heard so far that didn't get a tag for this fall!

Joe,I hunt in the Northern Kettles. The deer population has been taking a pounding with all the antlerless tags available. It's still a nice place to hunt.I also have a turkey permit for zone 2. That should keep me plenty busy this fall. Good luck to everyone and shoot straight.

I never thought I would say this after moving out west and living here for a few years now, but I miss Northern WI and hunting whitetails.  Just something about your first love!

Have a great season,

Nathan

Nathan,

Believe it or not...I'm with you!  I have lived in Montana for the last 16 years and for some reason the last few have longed to go back to Wisconsin.  My brothers are there and I think that's the biggest pull...oh, and the Packers, Point beer Leinenkugals, and great cheese as well...LOL.

I'll be thinking of there as I hunt whities this weekend with my 8 year old daughter here in Montana.

Happy hunting,
Jason

Don't get me started on the lack of beer, uh I mean whitetails here in Utah!
