Mojostik arrived yesterday!
« on: September 06, 2008, 12:44:00 PM »
Well guys all I can say is I was at a loss for words when I opened this package from JD yesterday! I like classic warm woods, not too gaudy ya know...well this thing is absolutely beautiful!   :clapper:   I knew JD was doing up something special but my expectations didn't even come close!  Seriously, I laughed out loud, I stared in awe, and I was speechless all at the same time. I couldn't be more pleased.  Cocobolo riser with Eucalyptis burl flare(Gaboon ebony accent strips, heartwood juniper veneers and bamboo core limbs with elk antler tips. 60" - 52# at 28"....Take a look!

More pics...

Intiial tuning tells me I can use 500 spine carbons with 300grains up front at 29.5"....but I'm not sure I have it dialed in yet. There seems to be some noise on release which could be the shaft slapping the riser or shelf. I think the nock point may not be correct. but the arrows seem to impact pretty well. After about an hour of playing around this is a reasonably common group at 15 yards.

Any suggestions on tuning would be helpful here guys...nock height etc.?
I can't say enough good things about JD LUND and Whisperstik Bows. He looked after me very well and he builds an awesome bow to say the least. Thank You JD!   :notworthy:      :notworthy:

First take off the limb tip protector from the lower limb, that is the source of noise a lot of the time. I would move the beaver balls closer to the center. Start them about where they end now. If those things dont eliminate the noise, add another 1/2" of brace, it looks a little low. Do it in that order and you will find the problem.
No hunter should feel guilty for killing a deer that doesnt meet someone else's expectations.

Thanks JAshu...I'll try those things. Yes, the brace IS low. I found that out after this shoot. It had dropped to 6.75", now it's at 7.5 and the noise is better. I didn't think the tip protector
would cause noise like that. It fits quite snug.

He does make a sweet bow, you are gonna love it. That is awesome looking. I'll have to keep that wood combo in mind on my next one. I shoot a 53 @ 28 with a 29 1/2" 2018 and they are darts, can shoot CE 250 Heritage at 31", both with 125 gr heads, and a 31" 65-70 cedar. Your arrows should be fine, I just installed some string groove silecer pads and they helped the noise a lot. Scott
