Arizona Bowhunting Opportunities in April
«
on:
February 26, 2007, 06:02:00 PM »
Will be spending a week in Arizona the first week of April and was hoping to take the opportunity to bowhunt one day. My family and my Father will be there visiting an uncle who lives in Phoenix.
Know Javelina are in the state, will they be in season, how much for license, far from Phoenix? Just in general, can it be done??
Thanks for any help!!

Hi GA:
January, February and March are our Javie hunting months....... April is when some of our spring Bear hunts are going on but those tags are precious and few...... May brings our spring Turkey hunts. Again those tags are precious and few. You can however hunt lion for the cost of your license and a tag fee....... Your license would also allow you to hunt small game...... Coyote, rabbits etc. Here's the link to the Arizona Game and Fish Website where you will find all the specifics

..... Good Luck.... Terry

Terry,
When can you shoot those squirrels with the long ears? What are they called again?

Steve are you talking about the Kaibab squirrels or the Mount Graham Squirrels?

Learn something every day here..... Your question got me looking at the regs and I just realized squirrel bow season coincides with my Elk hunts..... Never really paid attention before just assumed the season ran later and let them walk......Not anymore..... :D Terry

John.... Depends on the year and where you are.... They cycle up and down...... We saw quite a few out on our Javie hunt this year...I saw Theo Lamb put one heck of a stalk on a Jackrabbit..... He moved in from 80 yards to within 15 yards and shaved a hare..... :D Terry
