« on: January 02, 2007, 12:36:00 PM »
I am looking for a source of silverwood shafts that would also ship to Germany. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Okay, the search engine shows some other threads with the same question. Rodneywright and Oldbow do sell them. Any other sources? I do need the urgently and Oldbow is closed until 17. January.

Thanks,
Joe

Advantage
Straight shafts, weight is within a couple grains over a dozen and spine is within a couple pounds and they are very durable..

so these weigh in over 12 gr per inch?  I am confused on "within a couple of grains over a dozen"  sorry to be so block headed but im looking for something to bring some nostalgia back over aluminum shafting.  Thanks

Dustin,

I think Pete means they only vary a couple grains in a dozen shafts.  So they are very consistent in weight.

Dustin, the last three silverwood arrows I finished weighed 530 gr at a length of 29" using a 125 gr field tip.
The big advantage of these shafts is that they are  exceptional well matched. If you get a package of one dozen they will all nearly weigh the same ( +/-  5 gr or so) and more important they will have nealy exactly the same spine. By the way, spine and weight is already written on each shaft and they are barrel tapered for better dynamic properties.
There may be better respectively more durable and heavier shafts for hunting but for 3D tournament or target shooting I do not know better shafts.

@Schlechdee. Thanks for the hint but I have already called them this morning and they do not have my spine weight (75#) in stock right now. They told me to call back in two or three months, so...

I think they are made of silver quondong or silver ash.
